Tired of Tyrannosaurus?  Sick of Smilodon? Craving weird, bizarre, and/or obscure prehistoric organisms?
We've got the solution for you! No, this time seriously!
Machaeroides and avancna have founded a new deviantART Club that caters to obscure and arcane prehistoric animals.  You won't find "popular" critters such as Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Pterodactylus, Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, Pteranodon, Deinonychus, Elasmosaurus, or Dimetrodon here, as we regard such subjects as passé, bordering on trite (our apologies to those who hold these particular genera in high regard).
We intend to make an effort to focus on lesser known creatures to the public, such as Stahleckeria potens, Keratocephalus moloch, Shokawa ikoi, Opabinia regalis, Pseudopalatus andersoni, or Astrapotherium  magnus, for example. The organisms can be either plant or animal.
Anyone interested is free to join, and please inquire about available club positions!

1) To Join: Simply request to join group by pressing the "join our group" button. Put the group on your watch list. Putting the avatar link in your journal is optional. You will then be accepted as a member.

2) Submission: To submit artwork, press the "submit to this gallery" button found in the featured folder. You must submit obscure/lesser known extinct organism paleo-art, or at least something relevant to the subject. This club will not accept any famous fossil, science fiction/fantasy, and/or anthropomorphic artwork. Please make an effort to make realistic prehistoric organisms. Members are welcome to send us a deviation at any time of the day.

3) To become an administrator, simply request to become either a co-founder or any administrator. Once you become an administrator, be sure to check messages frequently for any member submissions or requests.

Wonderful idea.

Please tell me if one can became a member before he/she submits his/her first "rare fossil" artwork on DA?

And please clarify if the limit of three submitions per week sets a maximum or a minimum activity level for club members?

You can become a member by pressing the request to join button. You can submit to the gallery after you become a member. The limit is three submissions per member per week.
